Experiment on Space and Time

EXPERIMENT : To Create Data that can be used recursively to bring precision in life

dated 29th may 2010

the length of the monitor screen is exactly 24.5 x 32 cm

the length of platform of tollygung is approx 171 m this i gauged my traversing from the tiled portion of one end to the other end.I used my foot steps as the gauge.

Usually my one foot step is about 2.6 feet long. Total number of foot steps 214.So the net distance in the covered area.I walked an extra 5 steps to help approximate for the dark uncovered area.According to my calculation the length hence would be 214 x 2.6 feet= 556 feet which is coming up to be approx 556.4 feet =169.59 m

Here the total time i took to cover it was approx 2 minute 36 second.
That day i was going to my maternal uncles house at tollygung. My mother was a bit shocked to me seeing calculating all this. She took me for a mad and was continuing to ask me "what happened ?" "have u gone mad ?" etc.I enjoyed the whole thing though.

I saved the data in the mobile.

at home i calculated the whole thing----------the net time i should have taken was 556.4/3.6=154.5555 seconds . so it was right on time. The extra 1.5 seconds may be attributed to some human error .The error could have been my fractionaly slow reaction to switch of the mobile timer when i covered the distance.May be there i missed out on a second.

i think this experiment would help me in the future to exactly quantify the time i would take to reach a place with a great precision minimising any late appearances.
